What is Acupuncture?

Beaverton Acupuncture is a natural and healthy alternative to medication for treating pain. This is one form of Traditional Chinese medicine that provides pain relief which has been in use for over 3,000 years. It is based on adjusting the body’s meridians or energy (Qi) to stimulate the body’s natural healing powers. Acupuncture is the practice of inserting thin needles in the body at acupoints. As a result, acupuncture removes blocked Qi which heals pains, promotes natural healing, immunity and physical and emotional health. To ensure long-term pain relief and recovery from back, neck, and other injuries, choose a dual-licensed Doctor of Chiropractic and Acupuncture care.

How long does it take to get relief?

Beaverton Acupuncture treatment frequency depends on a variety of factors: your constitution, the severity and duration of the problem and disharmony of your body’s overall well-being (Qi). Therefore some people experience immediate relief, while others may take months or even years to achieve results. Also, acute conditions usually take longer to resolve. Therefore, we recommend that you receive a minimum of a month of treatments to realize significant changes.  Alternatively, many patients schedule monthly visits for health and well-being maintenance or seasonal ”tune ups”.
